Toshiya Ochiai
Toshiya was born and raised in Kyoto, Japan's acient capital. Shotrly after taking classical guitar lessons, he started to write songs in English inspired by Freddie Mercury who has been referred to as "Britain's first Asian rock star". In 2009,his song "Everyday of My Life" was awarded an Honorable Mention Award in the Pop Category of the 16th Annual Billboard World Song Contest and "Dear My Love" was awarded an Honorable Mention Award in the Pop Category of the 25th Annual Mid-Atlantic Song Contest (one of the longest running song contests in the United States held by the Songwriters' Association of Wasington). "Snow in Kyoto(...and Spring Has Come)"was completed with the help of a well-known shakuhachi player, Toshiya Mizukawa and Jamaican singer Monique Dehaney. Toshiya writes a wide variety of songs, including Rock, Pop, Blues, Jazz, and Bossa Nova. His main influences are:Brian May, Freddie Mercury, Hisashi Shirahama, Ichiro Tanaka, and Ryo Ishibashi.
